Got to keep knitting...

I've cast of my Angel Puff Scarf at about 180cm long. I have not felted it yet. Have to get some rubber bands first.

Ik heb mijn Angel Puff Sjaal op ongeveer 180cm lengte afgekant. Ik heb hem nog niet gevilt. Daarvoor moet ik eerste elastiekjes kopen.

I'm still waiting for several things I've ordered in the past week (needles, materials for two projects, books) but had to do something. So I've started on a hat for my daughter. I'm making it up as I go along. I'm starting with a headband with a cable on it. I'm using some Noro Kureyon that I had lying around and that I also used for her scarf.

Ik wacht nog op een aantal dingen die ik deze week besteld heb (breipennen, materialen voor twee projecten, boeken) maar ik kan niet stil zitten. Dus ben ik begonnen aan een muts voor mijn dochter. Ik heb geen patroon maar verzin het terwijl ik bezig ben. Ik ben begonnen met een hoofdband met een kabel erop. Ik gebruik de Noro Kureyon die ik nog had liggen en die ik ook voor haar sjaal heb gebruik.

Second Noro Shawl

Finished the second Noro Shawl today. It is even better than the first one. The colours seem to blend together more because of the stitch pattern I used for this one.
It was very simple: K1,P1,K1,P1 for two rows, and then change the pattern to P1,K1,P1,K1. I found out this is called American Moss Stitch.

Vandaag heb ik de tweede Noro Sjaal afgerond. Hij is nog mooier dan de eerste. De kleuren lijken meer door elkaar te gaan lopen door de gebruikte steken.
Het was echt heel eenvoudig; twee naalden met 1R,1A,1R,1A en daarna wisselen naar 1A,1R,1A,1R. Ik heb later ontdekt dat dit de dubbele gerstekorrel is.

Materials: Noro Kureyon 208 and 124
Amount: 50 grams of each colour
Fiber Source: Wolhalla
Needles: 5.0mm

Second Noro Shawl

The Second Noro Shawl is progressing nicely. The second one is never as quickly finished as the first one in my experience (with socks the same way). But this one is even more beautiful than the first one.

De Tweede Noro Sjaal schiet al aardig op. Een tweede duurt altijd langer dan een eerste is mijn ervaring (met sokken gaat het net zo). Maar deze wordt zo mogelijk nog mooier dan de eerste.

First Noro Shawl

The first Noro shawl, for my eldest daughter, is finished! I'll put up a picture tomorrow (it's too dark now to take a good picture). It's lovely, and my daughter is very happy with it.

De eerste Noro sjaal, voor mijn oudste dochter, is af! Ik zal morgen een foto plaatsen (het is nu te donker om een goede foto te maken). Hij is prachtig geworden, en mijn dochter is er erg blij mee.

New project

Instead of Lizard Ridge or a Noro Hat, I've started on a shawl (or actually two) for my daughters. They told my it was time to think of them in knitting terms instead of only making things for myself. And they were right. So I'm making them both a nice warm Noro shawl like this. Only I'm using Noro Kureyon instead of Noro Silk Garden (nice and warm!).

Inplaats van te beginnen met Lizard Ridge of een Noro muts ben ik begonnen met een sjaal (of eigenlijk moeten het er twee worden) voor mijn dochters. Ze vonden dat het tijd werd dat ik eens aan hun dacht, wat breien betreft dan, inplaats van alleen maar dingen voor mezelf te maken. En ze hadden gelijk. Dus maak ik voor beiden een lekker zachte, warme Noro sjaal. Zoiets als dit, maar dan met Noro Kureyon in plaats van Noro Silk Garden (lekker warm!)

Getting along nicely

My Criss-Cross Scarf is coming along nicely. I'm almost at the part where I have to start weaving. It's a bit of a gamble, because I'm not following the pattern exactly. I'm using a thinner wool, so I've got to knit more rows before I can start the weaving.

Mijn Criss-Cross Sjaal schiet al aardig op. Ik ben bijna bij het stuk waar ik moet gaan weven. Het is een beetje een gok wanneer ik daar aan moet beginnen, want ik volg het patroon niet helemaal precies. Ik heb dunnere wol gebruikt, dus moet meer naalden breien voor ik aan het weefgedeelte kan beginnen.



This morning my Noro wool arrived. It is so lovely! The colours are just perfect. The wool looked very soft on the picture, but in reality it isn't soft at all. It really feels and looks like wool, if you know what I mean. I love it.
Unfortunatly they sent me the wrong size needles, so I can't get started yet.

Vanmorgen is mijn Noro wol gearriveerd. Het is prachtig! De kleuren zijn echt perfect; heel intens. De wol zag er op het plaatje heel zacht uit, maar in het echt blijkt het vrij ruw te zijn. Het voelt als echte wol, zo van het schaap, als je begrijpt wat ik bedoel. Erg mooi.
Helaas heb ik de verkeerde maat naalden erbij gekregen, dus ik kan er nog niet mee aan de slag.
