I've cast of my Angel Puff Scarf at about 180cm long. I have not felted it yet. Have to get some rubber bands first.

Ik heb mijn Angel Puff Sjaal op ongeveer 180cm lengte afgekant. Ik heb hem nog niet gevilt. Daarvoor moet ik eerste elastiekjes kopen.

I'm still waiting for several things I've ordered in the past week (needles, materials for two projects, books) but had to do something. So I've started on a hat for my daughter. I'm making it up as I go along. I'm starting with a headband with a cable on it. I'm using some Noro Kureyon that I had lying around and that I also used for her scarf.

Ik wacht nog op een aantal dingen die ik deze week besteld heb (breipennen, materialen voor twee projecten, boeken) maar ik kan niet stil zitten. Dus ben ik begonnen aan een muts voor mijn dochter. Ik heb geen patroon maar verzin het terwijl ik bezig ben. Ik ben begonnen met een hoofdband met een kabel erop. Ik gebruik de Noro Kureyon die ik nog had liggen en die ik ook voor haar sjaal heb gebruik.

Wow, some very fast knitting going on here! In two evenings of knitting I've finished my first skein of KidSilk Haze and have started on the second. My scarf was about 65cm after the first skein. In the original pattern one skein gave a scarf of 124cm (before felting). So mine is half as long and about twice as wide. Now I wanted it not only to be wider, but longer as well. And with two skeins I'll only get to about 130cm, so that's not really that much longer. So I've decided to use all my three skeins of KidSilk. That should get me to near 2m before felting. The scarf in the pattern shrunk about 1/4 in length, so that should leave me a finished scarf of about 150cm. That seems just about right to me.

Wauw, er wordt hier hard gebreid! In twee avondjes breien heb ik mijn eerste bol KidSilk Haze al helemaal opgebreid, en ben nu met de tweede begonnen. De sjaal was ongeveer 65cm lang na de eerste bol. In het oorspronkelijke patroon was de sjaal 124cm lang (voor vilten), met één bol. Dus de mijne is ongeveer half zo lang, en twee maal zo breed (klopt). Nu wilde ik niet alleen breder, maar ook langer. En met twee bollen kom ik dus maar op ongeveer 130cm. Niet echt veel langer dus. Daarom heb ik besloten om alle drie de bollen KidSilk te gebruiken. Dan kom ik op een lengte van ongeveer 2m (voor vilten). De sjaal van het patroon kromp ongeveer een kwart in lengte, dus dan zou ik ongeveer 150cm overhouden na het vilten. Lijkt me een prima lengte.

Angel Puff Scarf

I've finaly found a purpose for the beautiful Rowan KidSilk Haze that I bought to knit a lace shawl. I love it, but because of its 'haziness' I find it very hard to knit an intricate pattern with. But then I found this on Ravelry. Just what I need; easy knitting, beautiful result. And felted too, something I've been wanting to do for some time.
I don't have the exact pattern, but it seems very straightforward. I've cast on about 70 stitches and am simply knitting stockinette stitch. I'm going to make it a bit longer and a bit wider (hopefully) than the one in the picture. I've got three skeins of KidSilk, so that's no problem (the original is 1 skein).

Ik heb eindelijk een bestemming gevonden voor de prachtige Rowan KidSilk Haze die ik gekocht had om een kanten sjaal van te breien. Ik vind het prachtige wol, maar omdat het zo pluizig is vond ik het erg moeilijk om er een ingewikkeld patroon mee te breien. Maar toe vond ik dit op Ravelry. Precies wat ik nodig had; eenvoudig breiwerk, prachtig resultaat. En ook nog gevilt, iets wat ik al een tijdje wilde proberen.
Ik heb het precieze patroon niet, maar het lijkt erg simpel. Ik heb ongeveer 70 steken opgezet en brei gewoon in tricotsteek. Ik probeer de sjaal iets langer en breder maken dan die op de foto (hopen dat dat ook lukt). Ik heb drie bollen KidSilk, dus dat moet lukken (het orgineel is met 1 bol gemaakt).

I'm in! Last night I received my invitation, and I've been browsing ever since. It gives me a lot of inspiration for a lot of new projects. I hope I'll find the time to knit them!

Ik ben binnen! Gisteravond kreeg ik de uitnodiging, en sindsdien ben ik aan het rondneuzen. Ik krijg er een hoop inspiratie van voor heel veel nieuwe projecten. Hopelijk heb ik tussendoor nog de tijd om ze ook uit te voeren!

DaCapo Problem

It's been a long time since I did any knitting on my DaCapo. Thing is; I've been worried about the gauge. Something told me it was wrong. So last night I decided to measure and count again, and I was right. 25sts and 50 rows shoul measure 10x10 cm, but in my knitting it only measures 9x9.5cm. So, what to do next; just pretend everything is alright and go on knitting and hope for the best, or start all over again? I've almost finished the back, so that's a lot of work done for nothing. But I guess better save than sorry....

Het is lang geleden dat ik iets aan mijn DaCapo gedaan heb. Probleem is dat ik me zorgen maak over de stekenverhouding. Een stemmetje zei me dat er iets niet in orde was. Dus gisteravond maar eens gaan meten en tellen, en inderdaad. 25st en 50nld zou 10x10cm moeten zijn, maar bij mij is het maar 9x9,5cm. Wat nu; gewoon net doen of er niets aan de hand is en doorgaan en er maar het beste van hopen, of verstandig zijn en overnieuw beginnen? Ik was bijna klaar met het rugpand, dus dat is een hoop werk voor niets. Twijfel, twijfel, twijfel...

My daughter saw a picture of this hat in Folk Hats by Vicki Square, and wanted it right away. So I chose some colours to match her coat, and started knitting. The hat itself was not very difficult. The bird on top took a bit more perseverance!

Mijn dochter zag een foto van deze muts in het boek Folk Hats van Vicky Square, en die wilde ze natuurlijk meteen hebben. Dus heb ik kleuren uitgezocht die bij haar jas passen, en ben gaan breien. De muts zelf was niet echt ingewikkeld. Het vogeltje vereiste wat meer doorzettingsvermogen!

Second Noro Shawl

Finished the second Noro Shawl today. It is even better than the first one. The colours seem to blend together more because of the stitch pattern I used for this one.
It was very simple: K1,P1,K1,P1 for two rows, and then change the pattern to P1,K1,P1,K1. I found out this is called American Moss Stitch.

Vandaag heb ik de tweede Noro Sjaal afgerond. Hij is nog mooier dan de eerste. De kleuren lijken meer door elkaar te gaan lopen door de gebruikte steken.
Het was echt heel eenvoudig; twee naalden met 1R,1A,1R,1A en daarna wisselen naar 1A,1R,1A,1R. Ik heb later ontdekt dat dit de dubbele gerstekorrel is.

Second Noro Shawl

The Second Noro Shawl is progressing nicely. The second one is never as quickly finished as the first one in my experience (with socks the same way). But this one is even more beautiful than the first one.

De Tweede Noro Sjaal schiet al aardig op. Een tweede duurt altijd langer dan een eerste is mijn ervaring (met sokken gaat het net zo). Maar deze wordt zo mogelijk nog mooier dan de eerste.

Slowly but surely I'm getting there! Today for the first time the list of people in front of me is shorter than the list of people behind me! If things progres like this I'll be 'in' on the 21st.

Langzaam maar zeker komt het einde van de wachtlijst in zicht! Vandaag is voor het eerst de lijst van wachtenden vóór mij korter dan de lijst na mij. Als het zo door blijft gaan ben ik op de 21ste 'binnen'.

Second Noro Shawl

I've started on the Second Noro Shawl. I'm using #208 and #124. My daughter has a pink-orange coat, and these colour numbers have a lot of pink and orange in them. Because I didn't like to knit the same shawl twice, I'm using a slightly different pattern for this one... (you'll see later)

Ik ben begonnen met de Tweede Noro Sjaal. Ik gebruik de kleuren #208 en #124. De jas van mijn dochter is oranje met roze, en die kleuren komen hier behoorlijk veel in voor. Omdat ik niet zoveel zin had om nog een keer precies dezelfde sjaal te breien gebruik ik voor deze tweede een iets ander patroon... (zul je nog wel zien)

First Noro Shawl

The first Noro shawl, for my eldest daughter, is finished! I'll put up a picture tomorrow (it's too dark now to take a good picture). It's lovely, and my daughter is very happy with it.

New project

Instead of Lizard Ridge or a Noro Hat, I've started on a shawl (or actually two) for my daughters. They told my it was time to think of them in knitting terms instead of only making things for myself. And they were right. So I'm making them both a nice warm Noro shawl like this. Only I'm using Noro Kureyon instead of Noro Silk Garden (nice and warm!).

Inplaats van te beginnen met Lizard Ridge of een Noro muts ben ik begonnen met een sjaal (of eigenlijk moeten het er twee worden) voor mijn dochters. Ze vonden dat het tijd werd dat ik eens aan hun dacht, wat breien betreft dan, inplaats van alleen maar dingen voor mezelf te maken. En ze hadden gelijk. Dus maak ik voor beiden een lekker zachte, warme Noro sjaal. Zoiets als dit, maar dan met Noro Kureyon in plaats van Noro Silk Garden (lekker warm!)

Well, the weaving is done. Had to be carefull to do it the right way, but it turned out nicely. AND I've got enough wool left to finish it! So no problems after all. Just another day of knitting and a lot of loose ends to fasten.

Het weven is klaar. Ik moest goed opletten dat ik het goed deed, maar het is gelukt. EN ik heb nog ruim genoeg wol over om de sjaal af te maken! Geen enkel probleem dus. Nog een dagje breien en dan een hele hoop losse eindjes om af te hechten.

Yeah!! I'm going to a Cat Empire concert at the end of the month in Amsterdam! The Cat Empire have been my favourite band ever since I saw them at the Oerol Festival this summer. They are very famous in Australia, but no one has heard about them over here. But they are absolutely great. So I'm very, very happy to go see them again. Can't wait till the 29th!!

Joepie! Ik ga naar een concert van The Cat Empire eind van deze maand in de Melkweg, Amsterdam! The Cat Empire is mijn favoriete band sinds ik ze deze zomer op het Oerol Festival heb gezien. Ze zijn hartstikke beroemd in Australie, maar hier heeft niemand van ze gehoord. Maar ze zijn echt fantastisch (vooral life). Dus ik ben super, super blij dat ik ze weer ga zien. Kan bijna niet wachten tot de 29e!!

I think I'm going to start the weaving part today. I'm just a little bit worried. This was supposed to be a one-skein-project (at least that was my idea), but I'm afraid my one skein won't be enough. And I only have one skein!

Ik denk dat ik vandaag met het weefgedeelte ga beginnen. Ik maak me alleen een klein beetje zorgen. De bedoeling was om deze sjaal met één bol wol te maken (dat was tenminste mijn idee), maar ik ben bang dat het niet genoeg is. En ik heb maar één bol!

Getting along nicely

My Criss-Cross Scarf is coming along nicely. I'm almost at the part where I have to start weaving. It's a bit of a gamble, because I'm not following the pattern exactly. I'm using a thinner wool, so I've got to knit more rows before I can start the weaving.

Mijn Criss-Cross Sjaal schiet al aardig op. Ik ben bijna bij het stuk waar ik moet gaan weven. Het is een beetje een gok wanneer ik daar aan moet beginnen, want ik volg het patroon niet helemaal precies. Ik heb dunnere wol gebruikt, dus moet meer naalden breien voor ik aan het weefgedeelte kan beginnen.

This morning my Noro wool arrived. It is so lovely! The colours are just perfect. The wool looked very soft on the picture, but in reality it isn't soft at all. It really feels and looks like wool, if you know what I mean. I love it.
Unfortunatly they sent me the wrong size needles, so I can't get started yet.

Vanmorgen is mijn Noro wol gearriveerd. Het is prachtig! De kleuren zijn echt perfect; heel intens. De wol zag er op het plaatje heel zacht uit, maar in het echt blijkt het vrij ruw te zijn. Het voelt als echte wol, zo van het schaap, als je begrijpt wat ik bedoel. Erg mooi.
Helaas heb ik de verkeerde maat naalden erbij gekregen, dus ik kan er nog niet mee aan de slag.

Finaly picked up my knitting needles again! I bought a pair of knitted gloves for my eldest daughter, and prommised my youngest I would make a similar pair for her myself. However, I just can't get it right. I get stuck with the fingers. I haven't figured out yet what it is I'm doing wrong. Will try and find another pattern and give it another go.

Eindelijk mijn breinaalden weer eens opgepakt! Ik heb een paar gebreide handschoenen voor mijn oudste dochter gekocht (vingerloos, met een flap die je er overheen kan doen als het erg koud is). En ik heb mijn jongste dochter beloofd dat ik dezelfde voor haar zou maken. Maar het lukt niet echt. Ik krijg de vingers niet voor elkaar. Ik weet niet wat ik fout doe, maar ik kom of steken te kort, of ik hou steken over. Misschien nog eens een ander patroon zoeken en opnieuw proberen.

While searching for information about knitting gloves on the internet, I found some other things I would really like to make. This morning I started on a Criss Cross Shawl.

I found the pattern here. It's a really simple pattern, but the result looks absolutely fantastic. Hope mine will look just as good.

Terwijl ik op zoek was naar informatie over handschoenen kwam ik nog wat andere patronen tegen die ik graag eens wil gaan maken. Vanmorgen ben ik alvast begonnen met de Criss Cross Shawl die hierboven te zien is. Het patroon heb ik hier gevonden. Het is een heel eenvoudig patroon eigenlijk, maar het resultaat ziet er heel byzonder uit. Ik hoop maar dat die van mij net zo mooi wordt!

En deze muts and sprei wil ik ook graag eens gaan maken. Ik heb al wol besteld voor de sprei, en diezelfde wol wordt ook gebruikt voor de muts. Dus ik kan altijd nog kiezen welke ik eerst ga maken.

More lingerie

Finished another pair of knickers. I've also made two bra's (one finished, one almost finished), but haven't taken a photo of those yet. The first bra turned out really well. I've actually worn it already, and it fits almost perfectly! Not bad for a first try I think.

Nog een slip afgerond. En ik heb ook al twee BH's gemaakt (één af, één bijna af), maar ik heb er nog geen foto's van. De eerst BH is erg goed gelukt. Ik heb hem zelfs al gedragen, en hij past bijna perfect! Niet slecht voor een eerste poging!

New hobby

I've started making lingerie. I'm doing a course in which I'll learn how to make underpants, bra's, and bodystocking or swimsuit. Last night I finished my first pair of underpants, and I'm really proud!

Ik ben begonnen met het maken van lingerie. Ik doe een cursus waarin we leren hoe we slipjes, bh's en een bodystocking of zwempak moeten maken. Gisteravond mijn eerste slipje gemaakt, en ik ben reuze trots op het resultaat!

It's been a while since my last post. I've been on vacation. To France. We had planned to go to England, but what with the floodings there and everything we decided at the last moment to change our plans and go to France. We've had pretty good weather there. Some rainy days, but not too many. And the temperature was just right in my opinion; about 25 degrees Celcius. We first went to my parents who've got a house near Beaune in the Cote d'Or. Then we went on to the Allier river (near Vichy) and then to Bretagne and Normandy. We loved Bretagne. The sea was just perfect. We collected a lot of shells and we had nice swims. We will definitely go again.
I took my knitting, but didn't do a single stitch. Shame on me! But I did take up my lace shawl the minute we got back home. So it's getting along nicely. About 20cm done. By the way. I first started all over. Didn't really like the pattern I had started with, and am now doing another one; the Japanese Kimono Shawl from Folk Shawls by Cheryl Oberle.

Het is lang geleden dat ik voor het laatst iets gepost heb. Ik ben op vakantie geweest, naar Frankrijk. We zouden eigenlijk naar Engeland gaan dit jaar, maar hebben op het laatste moment onze plannen geweizigd in verband met de overstromingen daar en het slechte weer in het algemeen. Frankrijk dus, en we hebben prima weer gehad. Wel een paar regenachtige dagen, maar niet te veel. En de temperatuur was met zo'n graad of 25 precies goed vond ik. We zijn eerst naar mijn ouders gereden. Die hebben een vakantiehuis in de buurt van Beaune, in de Cote d'Or. Daarn door naar de Allier (in de buurt van Vichy) en toen door naar Bretagne en Normandie. Vooral Bretagne was een succes. De zee was perfect. We hebben veel schelpen verzameld en lekker gezwommen. We gaan er zeker nog eens naar terug.
Ik had mijn breiwerk meegenomen, maar ik heb geen steek gebreid. Schande! Maar zodra we terug waren ben ik weer begonnen met mijn kanten sjaal. Heb nu zo'n 20 cm gebreid. Ik ben trouwens helemaal opnieuw begonnen omdat het patroon me toch een beetje tegen viel. Nu maak ik de Japanse Kimono Sjaal uit het boek Folk Shawls van Cheryl Oberle.

Dacapo

My DaCapo has arrived! It came about a week ago, but I was away for a few days to the Oerol Festival on Terschelling (theater festival). But last night I got started. It's great fun to do so far. The wool is a beautiful quality, and the colours are just georgeous. I'll post some pictures soon, when I'm a bit further.

Together with the DaCapo, the wool for the Wedding Ring Shawl arrived. It's Kidsilk Haze from Rowan. I've got started right away, and it's just perfect. The shawl will be very fine and warm and wooly.

Mijn DaCapo is eindelijk aangekomen! Een week geleden al, maar ik was een weekje naar het Oerol Festival op Terschelling. Gisteravond ben ik dan eindelijk begonnen. Het is erg leuk om te doen. De wol is van een prachtige kwaliteit, en de kleuren zijn schitterend. Ik zal snel wat foto's plaatsen, als ik wat verder ben.

Tegelijk met mijn DaCapo kreeg ik de wol voor de Wedding Ring Shawl. Het is Kidsilk Haze van Rowan. Ik ben er meteen mee aan de slag gegaan. De sjaal wordt heel fijn en warm en wollig.

Finally took a picture of my Falling Leaves socks!

Eindelijk een foto van mijn Vallende Blaadjes sokken!

Because my DaCapo has still not arrived, I've started on another pair of socks. These are from a pattern by Regia, no 5631. I don't know how to wear them yet (with which shoes), but I do like them.

Omdat ik mijn DaCapo nog steeds niet in huis heb, ben ik maar aan een volgend paar sokken begonnen. Dit is een patroon van Regia, nr 5631. Ik weet nog niet waarmee ik ze moet dragen (met welke schoenen), maar ik vind ze wel erg mooi.

I've almost finished my second Falling Leaves sock. Just the toe to knit! I think I'll be able to finish it tomorrow. Will post picture then.

Mijn Vallende Blaadjes sokken zijn bijna klaar. Alleen nog de teen breien! Ik denk dat ik ze morgen af krijg. Dan zal ik ook een foto plaatsen.

UFO's

Just heard that my DaCapo will not arive till sometime next week. They have to order it from Denmark!
Well, that gives me time to finish some UFO's (Un-Finished Objects). First there is my shawl. It is almost finished, so must be able to do that before the weekend is over.
Then there is a second Falling Leaves sock to knit. And I also have to make another Tassled Sock. So not to worry; I'll be busy enough till my DaCapo arives!

Ik heb net gehoord dat mijn DaCapo pas ergens volgende week zal komen. Ze moeten hem bestellen in Denmarken!
Dat betekent dat ik tijd heb om wat UFO's weg te werken. Ten eerste mijn sjaal. Die is bijna klaar, dus dat moet kunnen voor het weekend om is. Dan is er de tweede Vallende Blaadjes sok. En ik moet ook nog een tweede Kwastjes sok breien. Dus maak je geen zorgen; genoeg te doen tot mijn DaCapo er is!

I've decided to take the plunge and ordered the Dacapo 8 from Hanne Falkenberg! Hope it will arive soon. I love the design, and the colours are just perfect; really me.
I've also joined the Hanne Falkenberg Knitalong. It must be inspiring to know that so many others are working on the same (kind of) project.
I can't wait to get started!

Ik heb de sprong in het diepe genomen en de Dacapo 8 van Hanne Falkenberg besteld! Ik hoop dat hij snel komt. Ik vind het een prachtig ontwerp, en de kleuren zijn precies goed voor mij. Ik ben ook lid geworden van de Hanne Falkenberg Knitalong. Het lijkt me erg inspirerend om te weten dat er zovele anderen tegelijkertijd aan een soortgelijk project werken. Ik kan niet wachten om te beginnen!

My 'Falling leaves' socks are comming along fine. These are the socks I designed myself. One of the patterns I use is called Falling leaves, hence the name.

Mijn 'Vallende Blaadjes' sokken schieten al aardig op. Deze sokken heb ik zelf ontworpen. Een van de patronen die ik ervoor gebruikt heb heet Vallende Blaadjes, vandaar de naam voor deze sokken.

The pattern is not very clear from this picture, but it gives you some idea, so I wanted to show it anyway. I'll put up a better picture when the first sock is finished. The yarn used is called ONline 79 - 916.

Het patroon is niet echt duidelijk op deze foto, maar het geeft je misschien toch een beeld. Ik zal een betere foto plaatsen als de eerste sok helemaal af is. Ik heb ONline 79 - 916 gebruikt.

I've been wanting to knit a shawl in lace pattern for a while. The design was in Handwerken Zonder Grenzen 135. While looking for the right yarn for this shawl I came across some beautiful designs by Hanne Falkenberg. I'd never seen her work before, but now I want to make one! Only problem is which one to choose. I like the Da Capo, Diva, Pygmalion and Ping Pong the best. Can't choose yet, and then there is the colour to decide about as well...

Ik wil al een tijdje een sjaal in kantwerk breien. Het patroon staat in Handwerken zonder Grenzen nr 135. Op zoek naar het juiste garen voor deze sjaal stuitte ik op de prachtige ontwerpen van Hanne Falkenberg. Ik had nog nooit eerder iets van haar gezien, maar nu wil ik er ook één maken! Het enige probleem is; welke? Het mooiste vind ik; Da Capo, Diva, Pygmalion en Ping Pong. Ik kan nog niet kiezen, en dan moet ik ook nog over de kleur nadenken...

Here is a picture of the first socks I knitted. Well, they are not actually the very first socks I knitted, because I did those about 30 years ago when I was at primary school! Unfortunately I don't have a picture of those socks. But I remember making them and being very proud when they were finished.
These socks I knitted last Christmas for my eldest daughter and they were my re-introduction to knitting socks and the start of a new hobby.

Hier een foto van het eerste paar sokken dat ik gebreid heb. Dat is niet helemaal waar, want het allereerste paar heb ik een jaar of 30 geleden al gebreid. Op de Lagere School! Helaas heb ik daar geen foto van. Maar ik weet nog heel goed dat we het deden, en dat ik heel trots was toen ze af waren.
Deze sokken heb ik in de afgelopen Kerstvakantie gebreid voor mijn oudste dochter. Mijn hernieuwde kennismaking met het breien van sokken en het begin van een nieuwe hobbie!

Na dit eerste paar sokken wilde ik meteen met een tweede paar beginnen, maar mijn jongste dochter had liever een paar beenwarmers.

is failliet.
Dit prachtige en unieke blad lijkt daardoor gedoemd te verdwijnen.

Als abonnees en toekomstig abonnees willen we dit toch zomaar niet laten gebeuren??!!

Laat daarom op vrijdag 1 juni van je horen!

Probeer dit bericht aan zoveel mogelijk belanghebbenden door te geven, ook mensen die geen internet hebben (plaats namens hen de reactie).
Hoe meer reactie, hoe meer abonnees, hoe meer kans we maken dat het blad wel kan blijven bestaan!

De actie heeft twee doelen.
Allereerst willen we als abonnees aangeven dat we gedupeerd zijn door het stoppen van het tijdschrift (velen hebben geld betaald maar zullen er geen nummers voor terug ontvangen). Daarnaast willen we te kennen geven dat we niet zonder Handwerken zonder Grenzen kunnen en graag willen dat het tijdschrift door zal gaan, in de vorm zoals deze nu uitgegeven wordt.
Anderzijds is het belangrijk dat mensen die nog geen abonnee zijn en dit wel willen worden, dit kenbaar gaan maken. Zo kan een toekomstige uitgever zien dat er echt een markt voor het tijdschrift is. Dit kan vrijdag op een speciale manier aangeven worden.

I've been busy the last few days. I've finished my first tasseled sock. It's beautiful, but it was hard work. Still have to start on the second one, but wanted to do something else first.

By the way, they are called tasseled socks, but I've decided to leave the tassels off. Have to think of another name!

I've also made a pair of socks for my youngest daughter (I hadn't made any for her yet, and she's been begging me the last few days, so had to make her happy). I used Opal CanCan. The pattern is from the book Sensational Knitted Socks by Charlene Schurch.

This morning I started on a pair of socks I designed myself. I used two patterns from The Knitting Stich Bible by Maria Parry-Jones. It would look better in a solid colour, but I don't have any at the moment. I like this yarn as well though!

Tasseled socks

I've finaly made a start on the tasseled socks. It's not an easy task, cause they are in a jacquard motif. I'm using black Opal Uni 32 and Trekking Colorline - 145 for the motifs.

I've also been busy on my shawl. It's almost a meter long now! But not finished yet. I'll post a picture as soon as it's finished.

Because I don't have the right needles to start on the socks with tassels, I was looking for another project. I've got some lovely yarn from Colinette - Jitterbug Raphael. It's a purelish, pinkish colour with some blue and black. First I started on some socks, but it didn't turn out the way I liked; first I used a stich pattern that didn't suit the yarn, then I started over and the size just wasn't right. So I decided to do something completely different; a shawl. Found a lovely pattern on the Wolhalla site of a shawl in a wave pattern.
I'll post a picture later. I don't have the right card reader for my camera. But I've ordered one and it will arive in a day or two.

Last Friday I finished a pair of socks for my mother. I used a pattern I found on the Wolhalla site (see links). I'm afraid the pattern for this sock is only available in Dutch. See Kadootjes, third sock from the left on the top row. I used Opal Handpainted - Zomernacht for my socks. The pattern is not too hard, and the result is great.

I would like to start on another pattern I found on the Wolhalla site; socks with tassels (first sock on the second row). I've already got Opal Uni 32 - Black and some lovely Trekking Colorline 145 for the pattern. But I don't have needles size 3 yet, so I can't start. Hopefully I'll get them soon!
